Davos, Switzerland—Inilagay ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa “Build, Better, More” flagship program ang infrastructure development sa bansa.

Sa pambungad na pahayag ng Pangulo sa High-Level Cialogue-Investing I Infrastructure for Resilience dito, sinabi ng Pangulo na ito ang pinakarurok na pangarap ng administrasyon para sa equitable, prosperous at resilient Philippines pagsapit ng taon 2040 kasabay ng pagkilala ng papel na ginagampanan ng pribadong sektor.

Ayon sa Pangulo, habang inaasahan na papalo sa 7 percent ang economy growth rate ng bansa sa taong 2022, pinagsusumikapan na ng pamahalaan na maitaguyod ang connectivity para sa multiple realms gaya ng land, sea, air, digital, at meta.

Nabatid na ang inaasahang 7 percent na growth rate ay ang pinakamataas sa Southeast Asia at pinakamataas sa Asia-Pacific Region.

Sabi din ng Pangulo, tinutugnan ng pamahalaan ang impact ng climate change on economic growth at resilience at iba pa.

“We have allocated 9 percent of our national budget toward initiatives to support conservation, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.  I have committed to work to increase this figure to an average of 15 percent annually,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“For this reason, we have taken a proactive approach. We have created a Private Sector Advisory Council, some members are with us and we have formulated many strategies so that we can position the Philippines properly for development and evolution of the new global economy,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
