Maharlika Fund para sa ‘big ticket’ projects – PBBM

Davos, Switzerland – Gagamitin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang itinutulak na sovereign wealth fund o Maharlika Investment Fund para mapondohan ang mga malalaking proyektong imprastraktura ng gobyerno.

Aniya magandang ideya bilang leverage ang Maharlika Investment Fund para magawa ang mga proyekto lalo na sa sektor ng enerhiya at agrikultura.

“When we first discussed the sovereign wealth fund, the real purpose is that there is not enough money in government to do all the things that we need to do. We have reserves. And we must make [sure] that money sitting in banks, commercial and government… we need to find a way to make that money work for us, and that’s why we thought the sovereign wealth fund would be a good idea to leverage what assets the government has, what monies the government has,” aniya.

Paliwanag pa nito,  kritikal ang papel na gagampanan ng Maharlika Investment Fund dahil  malalaking proeykto ang ikakasa ng pamahalaan.

“We’re talking about energy, we’re talking about infrastructure, we’re talking about agricultural development, we’re talking about digitalization. So all of these will need a great deal of support,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Tiyak aniyang mahihikayat ang pribadong sektor na makiisa sa proyekto lalot ito ang sandalan sa national growth at development.

Sa naturang panukala, maglalagay ng pondo ang mga government financial institutions ng pamahalaan gaya ng land Bank of the Philipines, Development Bank of the Philippines at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
