929 sa 953 3rd level police officers nagsumite na ng ‘courtesy resignation’
Sa kasalukuyan, may 956 generals at colonels sa pambansang pulisya at 929 ang nagsumite na ng ‘courtesy resignation’ alinsunod sa apila ni Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos.
Ito ang pagbabahagi ni PNP Chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr., at aniya may tatlo ang hindi na magsusumite dahil magreretiro na ngayon buwan.
“With this overwhelming response, I would like to express my satisfaction, admiration, and respect to all these fine gentlemen for heeding the call for change and reformation in the police organization and for putting the interest of the nation on top and over personal desires and considerations,” ani Azurin.
Inulit niya na may gagawing hakbang para naman sa mga hindi magsusumite ng kanilang courtesy resignation at ikakasa nila ito pagkalipas ng deadline sa Enero 31.
Sinabi din niya muli na ang layon naman nito ay malinis ang hanay ng PNP ng mga bugok na opisyal.
“So we expect that our men on the ground will continue to focus on their work. In the near future, we expect it will be a better performance for the PNP. Once the officers are cleared, they will have moral ascendancy in this campaign and I believe that they themselves will not allow that they would be dragged again into this controversy,” ayon pa sa hepe ng pambansang pulisya.
