SC decision sa WPS joint oil exploration deal walang epekto sa Ph-China relationship

Hindi matitinag ang matibay na relasyon ng Pilipinas at China ng deklarasyon ng Korte Suprema na labag sa Saligang Batas ang 2005 joint oil exploration agreement kasama ang Vietnam.

Ito ang sinabi Foreign Affairs Sec. Enrique Manalo sa katuwiran na ang langis ay isa lamang sa mga aspeto ng relasyon ng Pilipinas sa China.

Ibinahagi nito na wala pa silang komunikasyon mula sa Korte Suprema hinggil sa naturang desisyon.

“We’ll have to see how this fans out with respect to oil and gas development,” ani Manalo.

Kamakailan lamang nang bumisita sa China si Pangulong Marcos Jr., at sinabi ni Manalo, na lubos pa nitong napagtibay ang relasyon ng dalawang bansa.

“The two leaders actually reached agreement on a number of sectors. You know—agriculture, even renewable energy, and the infrastructure, etc. “So it’s quite a broad range of cooperation between the Philippines and China. So this is basically one aspect,” sabi pa ng kalihim.
