Walang loyalty check sa AFP sa kabila ng ‘destab rumors’
Walang gagawing loyalty check ang Department of National Defense (DND) sa hanay ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Pahayag ito ng kagawaran matapos umugong na may nilulutong kudeta nang magkaroon ng palitan sa puwesto sa pagitan nina dating AFP chief of Staff Lt. General Bartolome Bacarro at General Andres Faustino at dating DND officer-in-charge Jose Faustino at DND Secretary-designate Carlito Galvez Jr.
Ayon kay Usec. Angelito de Leon, nanatiling tapat ang AFP sa Konstitusyon, watawat ng Pilipinas at sa awtoridad.
Sinabi pa nito na sa ngayon, nanatiling mataas ang morale ng mga sundalo.
“Let me give my assessment based on the turnout in this morning’s traditional joint DND New Years’ call. All the key commanders were there including the key staff officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the DND civilian bureaus. So I think there is no issue on the morale. The morale remains high. We are focused on our mandate,” pahayag ni de Leon.
