Senado nasa ‘Christmas break,’ SP Zubiri sinabing ‘big accomplishment’ ang maagang pagpasa ng 2023 budget

Makalipas ang unang 20 linggo ng 19th Congress, ibinahagi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na sa kanyang palagay ay naging produktibo ang Senado.
Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng mga panukalang batas na kumikilala at tumutugon sa mga pangangailangan ng mamamayan.
Aniya ang pinakamahalaga na kanilang naipasa sa Senado ay ang 2023 General Appropriations Bill, para sa P5.268 trillion 2023 national budget.
“Consisting of thousands of funding lines, this massive yet minute book of spending, finances the start of the reconstruction our people deserve after three years of being pummeled by the pandemic. The way the budget, and all the bills, are hammered in the Senate is proof that ours is not only an institution driven by initiative but also by industry,” ani Zubiri.
Mula sa pagbubukas ng 19th Congress hanggang noonmg Disyembre, bago ang Christmas break, 1,610 panukalang batas at 388 resolutions ang inihain ng mga senador.
Kabilang sa mga naging batas, ang SIM Registration Act at Barangay and SK elections postponement.
