Nabuking na ‘maternity scam’ iimbestigahan ng DepEd

Bumuo ang Department of Education (DepEd) ng isang fact-finding team na mag-iimbestiga sa nabunyag na diumano’y ‘maternity claims’ scam.

Ayon kay DepEd spokesman, Atty. Michael Poa, ang komite ay bubuuin ng mga opisyal sa kanilang regional offices.

Unang ibinunyag ng isang opisyal ng DepEd Taguig-Pateros ang sinasabing ‘scam’ matapos madiskubre na ilang guro ang nagsumite ng maternity leaves ng hanggang 11 ulit sa loob ng tatlong taon.

Umapila na ang kagawaran sa kanilang mga opisyal o tauhan na may nalalaman na katulad na modus na makipag-ugnayan sa kanila.

“Provide the DepEd Central Office with the necessary information so that we can also look into these issues and launch an investigation on the same,” ani Poa.
