Humihirit si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa European Union na epektibong ipatupad ang United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (Unclos) at pakalmahin ang tensyon sa Indo-Pacific region.
Sa talumpati ng Pangulo sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean)-EU Commemorative Summit sa Brussels, Belgium, nanawagan ang Pangulo ng “closer maritime cooperation” sa pagitan ng Asean at EU.
Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na sa ngayon, isinusulong ng Pilipinas ang independent foreign policy sa gitna ng kompetisyon sa pagitan ng Amerika at China sa Asean region.
Ayon sa Pangulo, hindi kailanman nanaisin ng Pilipinas na makasali sa ano mang tensyon ng ibang bansa.
