Mga gagamba na idineklarang pagkain nasabat ng Customs Bureau

Hindi pagkain kundi mga buhay na gagamba ang laman ng isang package na nadiskubre ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Ayon sa kawanihan, ang 23 tarantulas ay nadiskubre noong Nobyembre 21 at ang package ay nagmula sa Hanoi, Vietnam. Ito ay nakapangalan sa isang residente ng Makati City. Nabatid na nakalagay sa plastic containers ang mga insekto at naka-label na ‘potato chips’ at idineklarang ‘snacks and other food items.’ Ibinigay na ang mga tarantulas sa pangangalaga ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Sinabi ng BOC na paglabag ito sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act at Wildlife Resources Conversation and Protection Act.
