New York man sa ‘hate crime’ sa matandang Pinay nasentensiyahan

Labing pito at kalahating taon na pagkakabilanggo ang inihatol ng korte sa New York sa lalaki na nanggulpi ng isang matandang Filipina noong Abril.

Ikinatuwa ng Filipino community ang iginawad na hatol 42-anyos na si  Tammel Esco dahil sa pananakit sa 67-anyos na Filipina sa Yonker, New York.

Umani ng matinding pagkondena ang panununtok ng higit 100 beses ni Esco sa biktima matapos maipalabas ang CCTV footage ng insidente.

“Justice has been served.” Ito ang tweet ni Philippine Consul General in New York Elmer Cato.

“The sentencing today of the suspect in the brutal hate attack against a kababayan of ours in Yonkers is a positive development that [we] and the Filipino community welcome,” ani Cato.

Nabatid na nasa korte ang biktima nang sentensiyahan si Esco.
