Kapwa nakumpirma na ng Commission on Appointments (CA) sina Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan ‘Toots’ Ople, gayundin si Commission on Audit Chairman Gamaliel Cordoba.
Ngunit, kabaligtaran naman ang sinapit ni Energy Sec. Raphael Lotilla nang ipagpaliban muli ang kanyang kumpirmasyon dahil marami pang miyembro ng CA ang nais magtanong.
Nangako si Cordoba na magpupursige na makapagsilbi ng tama.
“I vow for COA to be partners in rebuilding our country. This appointee hopes that his professional and personal background aptly justifies the President’s decision to nominate him as COA chairperson. Ako po ay (I am) ready to serve, your honors,” ani Cordoba, na ang termino ay magtatapos sa Pebrero 2029.
Samantala, tiniyak naman ni Ople na pangangalagaan niya ang kapakanan at karapatan ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“When my father, former DFA Secretary and Senate President Ka Blas Ople, died on Dec. 14, 2003, I pledged to dedicate my life to helping our migrant workers. It was and continues to be my way of honoring him, of keeping him close to me, and remembering the legacy that he worked hard for,” aniya.
