Unang national budget ng Marcos Jr.-administration lusot na sa Senado

Walang senador ang tumutol sa isinusulong na P5.268 trilliion 2023 national budget.

Pinaboran ng 21 senador ang 20223 General Appropriations Bill at walang negatibo ang boto.

Ang pambansang pondo sa susunod na taon ay 4.9 porsiyentong mas mataas sa pondo ngayon taon na P5.024 trillion. Prayoridad sa pambansang pondo ang edukasyon, imprastraktura, kalusugan, agrikultura at social protection. Ibinahagi naman ni Sen. Sonny Angara na may P152.668 million confidential at intelligence funds ng ibat-ibang ahensiya ang inilipat sa ibang mga programa at proyekto ng mga natura din ahensiya. “All within the agency because we did not want to deprive the agencies of their budget, but placed under maintenance and other operating expenses,” paliwanag ng namumuno sa Senate Committee on Finance.
Bukas ay magsisimula ang bicameral conference committee meeting para pag-isahin ang bersyon ng panukala ng Senado at Kamara.
