5-year action plan sa Metro Manila traffic ikakasa

Nagpulong  ang Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), ang 17 local government units (LGUs) sa  Metro Manila, at mga ahensiya na may kinalaman sa pagsasaayos ng trapiko sa Kalakhang Maynila para sa ikakasang five-year action plan para maibsan ang trapiko.

Sa huling Joint Coordination Commitee Meeting para sa Project for Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan for Metro Manila, sinabi ni MMDA acting Chairman Romand Artes, ang napakalawak na oportunidad sa negosyo ang dahilan ng pagsisikip ng trapiko sa National Capital Region.

“As the project ends, the next step is to implement the plan. Continuous coordination, role-sharing, funding, monitoring, and evaluation—these are critical matters that must be addressed,” dagdag ni Artes.

Nakapaloob sa plano ang 12 istratehiya, kabilang na ang agad na pagsasa-ayos ng tinukoy na 42 bottlenecks at ang signal systems.

Inirekomenda din sa plano ang pagbuong LGUs ng kanya-kanyang comprehensive traffic management plans, pagpapalakas ng transport network at ng kapasidad ng MMDA sa traffic management.

Ang pagkasa ng action plan ay popondohan ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
