Oras ng duty ng traffic enforcers, pinalawig ng MMDA

Palalawigin ng Metro Manila Development Authority ang oras ng duty ng mga traffic enforcer ngayong panahon ng Pasko.

Ayon kay MMDA acting chairman Attorney Romando Artes, hanggang 12:00 ng hating gabi na ang magiging duty ng mga traffic enforcer.

Ayon kay Artes, pinalawig ang duty ng mga enforcer kasabay ng pagpapalawig ng operating hours ng mga malls mula 11:00 ng umaga hanggang 11:00 ng gabi.

Paiigtingin din aniya ang visibility ng mga enforcer sa mga pangunahing lansangan sa Metro Manila para matugunan ang mabigat na daloy ng trapiko.

Pagbabawalan ni Artes ang mga enforcer na magkumpulan at iwasan ang paggamit ng cellphone habang naka-duty maliban na lamang kung magre-report ng traffic situations o mga aksidente.

“Our primary duty and priority is to manage traffic first before apprehending erring motorists. We don’t allow the practice of waiting for motorists to violate traffic rules before flagging them down,” pahayag ni Artes.

 

“However, to avoid impeded traffic flow, minor violations like swerving  could be exempted on a case-to-case basis except for distracted driving and number coding,” dagdag ni Artes.
