Poverty rate sa Pilipinas, ibababa sa 9 percent sa 2028
Kumpiyansa ang administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na kayang pababain ang poverty rate ng bansa sa siyam na porsyento sa 2028.
Ayon kay Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, kayang abutin ang naturang target sa kabila ng mga hamom sa bansa pati na ang mabilis na inflation rate.
Ayon kay Balisacan, makakamit ito sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng maayos at de kalidad na trabaho at pagsasaayos sa social protection system at iba pa.
“But associated with that would be the generation of not just more jobs but higher quality jobs. And those two, growths and jobs and paying attention to social protection to address shocks like typhoons and crises… to enable us to achieve faster reduction of poverty from where it is today to single digit, at nine percent actually,” pahayag ni Balisacan.
Ginawa ni Balisacan ang pahayag matapos ang pulong kay Pangulong Marcos ngayong araw sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang.
Ayon kay Balisacan, ang pagpapababa sa siyam na porsyento na poverty rate ay bahagi ng Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 ng administrasyon.
Una nang sinabi ng Pangulo na positibo ang susunod na GDP sa bansa.
