P500M confidential fund ni VP Sara ipatatanggal ni Sen, Koko Pimentel
Sa paniniwala na hindi dapat nabibigyan ng confidential fund ang Office of the Vice President, sinabi na ni Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel na ipapatanggal niya ang inilaan na P500 million sa 2023 budget ng tanggapan ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa deliberasyon sa pondo ng OVP sa susunod na taon at sa harap mismo ni Duterte, sinabi ni Pimentel na makatuwiran lamang na ang halaga ay ilipan na lamang sa ibang ahensiya na higit na nangangailangan.
Kinuwestiyon ni Pimentel kung mabibigayn katuwiran ng OVP ang napakalaking confidential fund, gayundin ang mga programa ni Duterte na aniya ay ginagawa naman na ng ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno.
Sinabi naman ni Sen. Sonny Angara na kailangan na ibigay ang lahat ng suporta kay Duterte dahil napakalawak ng mandato ng tanggapan nito, kasama na ang pagbibigay tulong sa mga nangangailangang Filipino.
“Out of respect, we had never decreased the budget of the Office of the Vice President. I’d rather it won’t happen under my watch as Committee (on Finance) chair… this is not an arbitrary amount,” pagpupunto ni Angara.
