NDRRMC planong ilagay na sa Office of the President
Isasailalim na ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Office of the President ang pamamahala sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Sa talumpati ng Pangulo sa paggunita sa ika-9 na anibersaryo ng Bagyong Yolanda sa tacloban City, Leyte, sinabi nito na ito ay para ma-streamline o mabawasan ang proseso sa disaster response efforts.
Ayon sa Pangulo, kailangan na paigtingin ang disaster response initiatives ng pamahalaan.
“We will put the national disaster response team under the Office of the President. And I think that we are headed in that direction because of the weather that we are suffering now from the effects of climate change,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“I think that overall, we can say that the disaster response has been a good one. However, I believe that there are ways that we can make it even more streamlined,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na kailangan nang ipatupad ang mga reporma lalot palakas nang palakas ang mga bagyo at iba pang kalamdiad na dumarating sa bansa.
Marapat lamang aniya na maging proactive at responsive ang mga plano ng pamahalaan.
