LP, sasali na sa koalisyon ni President-elect Duterte
Kinumpirma ni outgoing House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr na sasama na ang Liberal Party sa itinuturing na majority group na “coalition for change” ng binuo ng kampo ni President-elect Rodrigo Duterte para sa 17th Congress.
Sinabi ito ni Belmonte, vice chairman ng LP, na kasalukuyang nasa Davao City para sa meet and greet kay Duterte at presumptive House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Ayon kay Belmonte, hindi siya lalaban sa speakership race sa Kamara sa susunod na Kongreso, at sa katunayan ay tinawag na nito si Alvarez bilang soon-to be-speaker.
Nilinaw din ni Belmonte na hindi nakikialam si outgoing Pangulong Noynoy Aquino sa lipatan o pakikipag-alyansa ng ilang miyembro ng LP sa papasok na ruling party na PDP-Laban.
Sinabi ni Belmonte na alam ni Pnoy na maraming miyembro ng LP ang gustong lumipat o makipag alyansa sa PDP Laban.
Aniya pa, sakaling magkaroon ng koalisyon ang LP sa PDP Laban ay sa Kamara lamang ito at hindi kasama ang sa Senado.
Samantala, nilinaw din ni Belmonte na wala siyang rekumendasyon kay Duterte para mabigyan ng pwesto sa susunod na administrasyon si Vice President elect Leni Robredo.
