Pagpapatibay ng public health system tinalakay ni PBBM Jr., sa WHO chief

Nais ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na magkaroon ng renewed focus sa general lublic health.

Ginawa ng Pangulo ang pahayag sa courtesy call ni Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general ng World Health Organization (WHO) sa Malakanyang.

Tinalakay ng dalawa ang ibat ibang isyu may kaugnayan sa health sector kasama na ang COVID-19.

Ayon sa Pangulo, kailangan balansehin ang ekonomiya at kaligtasan ng tao sabay pagdidiin na naging epektibo ang pagbabakuna ng pamahalaan kontra COVID-19.

Nasa bansa si Ghebreyesus para dumalo sa 73rd World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Committee Meeting (WPRCM) na ginaganap sa Manila hanggang sa Biyernes, Oktubre 28.

Una nang sinabi ng Punong Ehekutibo na ititigil na ng bansa ang pagtrato sa COVID-19 bilang isang emergency pero hindi na muna babawiin ang state of calamity.

Kasama ni Ghebreyesus na nag-courtesy call sa Pangulo si WHO Chief of Cabinet Dr. Catharina Boehme at Director of Programme Management Dr. Corinne Capuano ng WHO Western Pacific Regional Office.

Nakasama naman ng Pangulo sina  Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Antonio Lagdameo Jr. at Department of Health (DOH) Officer-In-Charge (OIC)  Maria Rosario Vergeire.
