Pagtaas ng suicide attempts sa mga kabataan ikinabahala ni Sen. Bong Go

Ipinag-alala ng husto ni Senator Christopher Go ang pag-aaral ng University of the Philippines Population Institute na 7.5% ng kabataang Pinoy ang nagtangkang magpakamatay noong nakaraang taon.

Kayat hinikayat ng senador ang gobyerno na palakasin ang  psychological assistance at mental health support sa mga kabataang Filipino.

Aniya sa nakalipas na administrasyong-Duterte nang maisabatas ang Republic Act 11036 o ang Philippine Mental Health Act.

Nais ng senador na maibaba sa barangay level ang mental health services at bumalangkas ng mental health at wellness programs sa grassroots level kasabay ng  pagsasaayos ng mental health facilities at promosyon ng mental health education sa mga paaralan at workplaces.

Una nang isinulong ni Go ang pagbibigay ng  libreng mental health services at psychosocial support sa gitna ng COVID 19 crisis.

Hinimok din niya ang Philhealth na bumuo ng mas komprehensibong mental health package na kasama ang  consultation at iba pang outpatient services para sa  mental at behavioral conditions.
