Pagpapaliban sa Barangay at SK elections, pangmamaliit sa kakayahan ng mga barangay officials
Pumalag si Caritas Philippines National Director Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo saa paninindigan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na ituloy ang pagpapaliban sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Ayon kay Bishop Bagaforo, mistulang minamaliit ng national political leaders ang kahalagahan ng mga opisyal sa barangay.
“Postponing the barangay election for the third time since 2016 reflects how our national political leaders undermine the importance of barangay-level politics in the exercise of our democratic rights,” pahayag ni Bishop Bagaforo.
Sa halip na sa Disyembre 5, 2022 gagawin ang Barangay at SK elections, gagawin na lamang ito sa huling Lunes ng Oktubre sa 2023.
