Sinuspendi ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si Bureauof Corrections director general Jerald Bantag.
Sinuspendi ng Pangulo si Bantag matapos mamatay si Jun Villamor na itinuturong middleman na bilanggo sa pagpatay sa broadcaster na si Percy Lapid.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, kinausap siya kagabi ni Pangulong Marcos para ipa-suspendi si Bantag.
Ayon kay Remulla, pansamantalang papalit kay Bantag si retired General Greg Catapang na tatayong officer-in-charge ng Bucor.
“I was told last night by the President to suspend Bucor chief Gerald Bantag and appointed retired General Greg Catapang as OIC,” pahayag ni Remulla.
