Ginawaran ng Special Diploma ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Buenos Aires City si Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte,
Nasa Argentina ngayon si Belmonte para sa C40 World Mayors Summit.
Ang C40 ay isang network of mayors kung saan tampok ang nasa 100 world-leading cities sa buong mundo.
Tinutugnan nito ang climate crisis.
Isa ang Quezon City sa naging miyembro ng C40 Cities network simula noong 2015.
Ang Quezon City ang bukod tanging siyudad sa Pilipinas na nomindao sa 2022 C40 Cities Bloomberg Philanthropies Award.
Naging guest of honor si Belmonte
Nabatid na ang inisyatibo ni Belmonte na GROWQC, na nakafocus sa food security and sustainability sa pamamagitan ng urban agriculture ang nagbigay daan sa Quezon City para maging nominado sa ilalim ng Innovative Climate Solutions category.
Taos pusong nagpasalamat si Belmonte sa pagkilala sa kanya ng Buenos Aires City Government.
“QCitizens who have found common cause to support our GROWQC project, and other initiatives by our administration,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
“Let’s continue to show them how truly world-class our city is,” dagdag ni Belmonte.
Positibo si Belmonte na makalilika pa ang local na pamahalaan ng Quezon City ng mga bagong inisyatibo para matugunan ang “climate change at self-sustainability.”
“Our seat at the C40 network is proof of the QC government’s commitment to the welfare of this generation and the next,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
