Inflation at exchange rate, tinalakay sa economic meeting ni Pangulong Marcos
Sumentro sa inflation ang pakikipagpulong ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa kanyang economic team ngayong araw sa Palasyo ng Malacanang.
Ayon sa Pangulo, pinag-usapan kung paano tutugunan ng gobyerno ang pandaigdigang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin katulad ng pagkain at langis.
“Earlier in the meeting with the Economic Team, we discussed policy directions for the rest of the year and the first quarter of next year. Number one priority is still inflation. We will continue to use interest rates to mitigate the effects,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Tinalakay din ng Pangulo ang planong pagpapatibay sa ekonomiya ng bansa sa mga susunod na buwan hanggang sa unang bahagi ng 2023.
“We may have to defend the Peso in the coming months, but the overall forecast is that we are still doing better than other countries in terms of inflation, though economic developments are still anticipated,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sinabi naman ni National Economic Development Auhority Secretary Arsenio Balisacan na tinalakay din sa pulong ang interest rates at foreign exchange.
Mayroon na aniyang nakalatag na short, medium at long term para sa pagtugon saa mabilis na pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin.
