Mahigpit na binabantayan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang operasyon ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) sa bansa.
Pahayag ito ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang sa gitna ng naunang pahayag ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na kasama na ang Pilipinas sa mga bansang blacklisted ng China dahil sa operasyon ng POGO. Pero kalaunan, binawi rin ito ni Zubiri at sinabing maaring nagkamali lamang ng translation.
Ayon kay Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil, ang Philippine National Police ang namamahala sa usapin sa POGO.
“Of course the President is closely monitoring this and as far as the President is concerned ang PNP po ang in charge dito sa usapin na ito,” pahayag ni Garafil.
