Dasal hiniling para matuldukan ang tensyon sa kapitolyo ng Negros Oriental
Humiling si Dumaguete Bishop Julito Cortes ng dasal para sa mapayapang pagtatapos ng tensyon sa pagitan ng mga kampo nina Henry Teves at Roel Degamo, na kapwa naiproklamang gobernadora ng lalawigan.
Sa ulat ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), nagpalabas ng ‘special prayer’ si Bishop Cortes para mapayapang resolusyon sa pagitan ng dalawang kampo.
Sinabi nito na naguguluhan na ang mga taga-Negros Oriental sa nangyayari.
“As concerned citizens, let us pray that this tension between Hon. Roel Degamo and Hon. Henry Teves and their respective supporters be resolved peacefully,” pakiusap ni Bishop Cortes.
Ipinapalangin nito na magkaroon ng ‘Divine intervention’ sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon para manaig ang ‘rule of law.’
Binalewala ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang proklamasyon ni Teves at inutusan na siya ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na bumaba sa puwesto matapos manumpa na sa Malakanyang si Degamo.
Ayon naman sa kampo ni Teves tanging ang korte lamang ang makakapag-utos na bumaba ito sa puwesto at lisanin ang Kapitolyo.
