Bankers’ group, Globe sanib puwersa sa pagpapalakas ng cyber security
Hawak kamay ngayon ang Bankers Asso., of the Phils. (BAP) at Globe Telecom para sa pagpapalakas ng mga hakbang kaugnay sa cyber security ng mga bangko.
Ang pagpirma ng Globe at BAP sa isang memorandum of understanding (MOU) ay para mas mabigyang proteksyon ang kanilang mga kliyente kasabay nang paglaganap ng ibat-ibang modus sa pamamagitan ng internet, text messages at voice calls.
Pinangunahan ni Globe President at CEO Ernest Cu ang pagpirma sa MOU sa pagitan nil ani BAP President Antonio Moncupa Jr.
Nasaksihan naman ito nina Globe Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio, Globe Chief Privacy Officer Irish Salandanan-Almeida, BAP Cybersecurity Committee Chairman Eugene Acevedo, at BAP Managing Director Benjamin Castillo.
Nakasaad sa MOU ang intelligence-sharing sa pagitan ng Globe at mga bangko na miyembro ng BAP para mapigilan ang pagdami ng mga kaso ng ‘financial crimes,’ tulad ng identity theft, phishing at spam text messages.
“The MOU with BAP will pave the way for Globe and the BAP member-banks to share data and intelligence for enhanced fraud detection and prevention. This will reduce limitations and streamline the collaborative process while ensuring compliance with the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines,” sabi ni Cu.
“This partnership will allow the sharing of information between Globe and the banks on the latest cybersecurity threats, which will allow banks to aptly develop the necessary solutions to counter them,” ayon naman kay Moncupa.
Bago pa man ang MOU, nakikipagtulungan na ang Globe sa mga malalaking bangko at online retailers sa bansa.
Ngayon taon, hanggang nitong Agosto 36.7 million bank-related spam at scam messages na ang naharang ng Globe.
