Death benefits ng disaster personnel nais pagtibayin ni Sen. Mark Villar
Naghain ng panukalang-batas si Senator Mark Villar para sa institulasyon ng mga benepisyo ng mga community disaster personnel.
Paliwanag ni Villar, layon ng kanyang Senate Bill No. 1354 o ang Disaster Personnel Death Benefit Act’ na mabigyan ng tama at sapat na kompensasyon ang pamilya ng mga rescuer na nadidisgrasya sa pagtupad sa kanilang mga tungkulin.
“In every disaster, the lives of our rescuers and volunteers will always be at risk. No amount of compensation will be ever sufficient for the families left behind in case of loss of life during the performance of their duties. The bravery and heroism of these selfless individuals should be duly recognized,” katuwiran pa ng senador.
Aniya sa panukala, ang death benefits ay para sa lahat anuman ang kanilang employment status – regular, casual, contractual, job order o maging sila ay volunteer.
Sinabi ni Villar na labis siyang nalungkot sa sinapit ng limang miyembro ng Bulacan rescue team at ikinabigla pa niya nang malaman na casual employees lamang ang mga ito ng pamahalaang-panglalawigan ng Bulacan.
Ayon pa sa kanya, sa kanyang panukala, ang death benefit na makukuha ay kalahating buwan na suweldo at depende pa sa bilang ng taon sa serbisyo.
