Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si Attorney Richard Paat Palpal-latoc bilang bagong chairman ng Commission on Human Rights.
Si Palpal-latoc ay dating Quezon City Assistant City Prosecutor at naging Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs ng Office of the President.
Nilagdaan ng Pangulo ang appointment paper ni Palpal-latoc noong
Magsisilbi ang 48 anyos na si Palpal-latoc sa CHR ng buong seven year term. Ibig sabihin mula 2022 hanggang 2029.
Sinabi naman ni CHR Executive Director, Atty. Jacqueline Ann de Guia na welcome sa kanilang hanay si Palpal-latoc.
“Chairperson Palpal-latoc also has a robust private practice career. He is a trial lawyer and partner at the Rodriguez Esquivel Palpal-latoc Law Firm,” pahayag ni de Guia.
Nagtapos si Palpal-latoc sa University of Santo Tomas—Philosophy (1995) at Bachelor of Laws (2001).
