Martial Law message: Pimentel sinabing lumingon, matuto sa mga pagkakamali
Sa paggunita sa ika-50 anibersaryo ng deklarasyon ng Batas Militar, sinabi ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III na hindi dapat makalimot ang mga Filipino na lumingon sa nakaraan.
Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi pa ni Pimentel na dapat matuto sa mga pagkakamali, bantayan ang kalayaan at demokrasya at labanan ang pagkalat ng mga maling impormasyon.
“From a son who had seen his father suffer from the abuses of martial law and had witnessed his father imprisoned four times, I tell you this: the atrocities and abuses that transpired during this period were real – no amount of disinformation can change that,” diin nito.
Samantala, ito rin ang halos mensahe sa okasyon ni Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros.
“Never again, never forget,” diin ni Hontiveros at aniya, dapat bigyang pagpupugay ang mga nagsakripisyo ng kanilang buhay at panahon para labanan ang panggigipit at kawalan ng hustisya.
