Talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa UNGA, tututok sa COVID-19 recovery

Biyaheng Amerika si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Setyembre 18 hanggang 24.

Ito ay para dumalo sa 77th United Nations General Assembly na gaganapon sa New York.

Ayon kay Assistant Secretary Kira Christianne Azucena ng Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of the Nations and International Organization, inaasahang magsasalita si Pangulong Marcos sa UNGA sa Setyembre 20 ng 3:15 ng hapon, oras sa New York o 3:13 ng hapon, oras sa Pilipinas.

Tutukan ng Pangulo ang pagtalakay kung paano tinugunan ng Pilipinas ang pandemya sa COVID-19.

Tema sa UNGA ngayong taon ang “Watershed Moment, Transformative Solutions to Interlocking Challenges.”

“The President’s statement will also articulate his administration’s priorities which include climate change, the rule of law and food security,” pahayag ni Azucena.

Nasa 152 na heads of state ang inaasahang dadalo sa high-level general debate sa UNGA.

“The President’s participation in the opening of the UNGA 77 is important because it marks his first engagement with the United Nations which the Philippines recognizes as the world’s most important multilateral organization,” pahayag ni Azucena.

Sasamantalahin din ng Pangulo ang oportundiad para makipagpulong sa ilang opisyal ng United Nations.

Samantala, isinasapinal pa ng DFA ang posibleng pulonngnina Pangulong Marcos at US President Joe Biden.
