Barangay, SK elections pinauurong sa December 2023
Hiniling ni Senator Imee Marcos ang pagpapaliban muli ng Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections sa Disyembre sa susunod na taon.
Inilahad ni Marcos sa sesyon ng Senado ang final report ng pinamumunuan niyang Committee on Electoral Reforms, gayundin ng Committee on Finance at Committee on Local Government, matapos ang pagtalakay sa Senate Bill 1306.
Ayon kay Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., hindi maiiwasan na hindi maipagpaliban muli ang eleksyon.
Sinuportahan din ni Sen. Christopher Go ang ulat ni Marcos.
Nabanggit ni Marcos na gagasta ng higit P18.4 bilyon ang Commission on Elections (COMELEC) kung ipagpapaliban ang eleksyon at higit P8 bilyon lamang kung itutuloy ito sa darating na Disyembre 5.
Tiniyak naman ng COMELEC na handang-handa na sila kung itutuloy ang eleksyon.
