P3.7 bilyong pondo inilaan para sa feeding program ng DSWD

Aabot sa P3.7 bilyong pondo ang inilaan ng The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para sa Supplementary Feeding Program ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Nakapaloob ito sa 2023 National Expenditure Program (NEP).

Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, nasa 1.8 milyong bata na naka-enrol sa child development centers na pinangangasiwaan ng local government units ang makikinabang sa naturang programa.

Nasa 157,968 malnourished na bata naman ang makikinabang sa milk feeding program.

Nabatid na para sa regular feeding program, nasa P3.1 bilyon ang inilaang pondo habang nasa P360 milyon naman ang nakalaan sa milk feeding program.

Inilaan naman ang natitirang P181.9 milyong pondo para sa administrative costs ng SFP.

“The future of our country lies in our youth. Kaya naman dapat tiyakin natin na ang mga bata, lalo na iyong mga nasa formative years, ay hindi malilipasan ng gutom. We want our children to eat healthy, and live healthy,” pahayag ni Pangandaman.

Nabatid na noong 2021, nasa 1,685,170 kabataan ang nabigyan ng sapat na nutrisyon base na rin sa SFP.
