Pinangunahan ni Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos at National Capital Region Police Officer (NCRPO) Chief Jonmel Estomo ang pagsalakay sa isang cybersex den sa Sampaloc, Maynila.
Sa operasyon, 15 batang babae ang nailigtas.
Inaresto naman ang isang 18-anyos na suspek at may isa pang menor de edad.
“These kinds of crimes are very disturbing and the worst of its kind as it targets and victimizes innocent children. The impact of cybersex crimes on children are long term and oftentimes, ruin their lives,” ayon sa kalihim.
Kasabay nito ang kanyang panawagan sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na makipagtulungan sa kanila sa paglaban sa cybercrimes.
“We have to take seriously these kind of crimes preying on our children online and end sexual exploitation by strengthening our campaign against cyberporn and providing them safe space online, now that they are more exposed to activities done virtually in light of the restrictions brought by pandemic,” diin ni Abalos.
