P2.5-B pondo, inilaan ng DBM para sa airport modernization

Aabot sa P2.5 bilyon ang inilaan ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para sa modernisasyon ng mga airport sa buong bansa.

Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, ito ay bilang suporta sa pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na pagandahin ang transportation infrastructure sa Pilipinas.

Base sa National Expenditure Program (NEP) tinaassn ang budget ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ng 120.4 porsyento.

Mula sa P75.8 bilyon na pondo para sa taong 2022, itinaas ang pondo ng DOTr sa P167.1 bilyon sa 2023.

Bukod sa mga big-ticket railway at road transport projects na may malaking a lokasyon, makakukuha rin ng sapat na pondo ang aviation projects.

Gagamitin aniya ang pondo para sa construction, rehabilitation, at improvement ng mga airport sa bansa.

Kabilang sa mga aayusin ang Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Laoag International Airport, Tacloban Airport, Antique Airport, at Bukidnon Airport.

“We fully support the directive of the President to give high priority to infrastructure development in our drive for growth and employment. Kasama po dito ang airports o mga paliparan sa bansa,” pahayag ni Pangandaman.

“With pouring much-needed budget to improve and modernize our airports, we help fulfill President Marcos’ directive to Build, Better, More,” dagdag ng kalihim.
