Kasong rape, isinampa laban kay TV host Vhong Navarro
Sinampahan ng Office of the City Prosecutor ng Taguig ng kasong rape si TV host Vhong Navarro kaugnay sa insidenteng kinasangkutan nila ng modelong si Deniece Cornejo noong 2014.
Nabatid na noong Miyerkules, Agosto 31, nang ihain sa Taguig City regional trial court ang kaso.
Base sa impormasyon ng kaso, sinabi ng mga taga-usig na pinagsamantalahan ni Navarro si Cornejo matapos niyang pagbantaan at lasingin noong Enero 2014.
Hindi naman muna nai-raffle ang kaso hanggang walang resolusyon ang Court of Appeals (CA) ukol sa urgent petition na inihain ni Navarro para sa pagpapalabas ng status quo ante order.
“Given the foregoing, the holding of raffle involving the criminal case of accused Ferdinand Navarro should be deferred until the motions are resolved,” sabi ni RTC Executive Judge Antonio Olivete.
Noong Hulyo 21, ipinag-utos ng CA ang pagsasampa ng kasong rape at acts of lasciviousness laban kay Navarro.
Bago ito, binaligtad ng CA 14th Division ang pagbasura noong 2018 at 2020 ng Department of Justice sa reklamo ni Cornejo dahil sa kakulangan ng ‘probable cause.’
Sa reklamo ni Cornejo, sinabi nito na ginahasa siya ng TV host noong Enero 17 ay 22, 2014.
