Paggamit ng single-use plastic pinahihigpitan ni Sen. Loren Legarda
Muling nanawagan si Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda para sa regulasyon ng paggamit ng single-use plastic products ng mga establismento para mabawasan ang plastic pollution.
“Plastic pollution is a serious matter of global concern. This plastic crisis needs an urgent and systematic response with the help of all relevant and private stakeholders,” aniya.
Inihain ng senadora ang Senate Bill 246 oang ‘Single-Use Plastics Regulation and Management Act of 2022’ na layon magkaroon ng regulasyon sa paggawa, importasyon at paggamit ng single-use plastic products.
Nakapaloob sa panukala ang pagpapataw ng mga multa, maging insentibo sa mga industriya, negosyo at konsyumer.
Nasa panukala din ang komprehensibong pamamaraan para maresolba ang problema sa mga naturang produkto sa pamamagitan ng pagkilos ng pribado at pampublikong sektor.
Dagdag pa ni Legarda palalakasin pa ng kanyang panukala ang paggamit ng ‘reusable materials’ alinsunod sa Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
