Balak na gawing hindi mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face mask sa Cebu City, iginagalang ng Palasyo

Iginagalang ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang pahayag ni Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama na balak maglabas ng executive order para gawing hindi na mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face mask bilang dagdag proteksyon laban sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, mayroong sariling hurisdiksyon ang local government officials.

Sa ngayon aniya, wala pang reaksyon si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa desisyon ni Rama.

Sinabi pa ni Angeles na hihintayin muna ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang kung ano ang magiging tugon ng Department of Health (DOH) ukol sa naturang usapin.

“Like I said, there is no reaction yet from the Palace on this one. It may be taken under advisement although we do respect the mandates of local governments over their own jurisdictions. If this is brought up then we will make such an announcement. We are also waiting for the reaction of the DOH on this on, so without all of that info coming in there will be no statement yet,” pahayag ni Angeles.

Hunyo 2022, sinabi na rin ni Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia na hindi na magiging mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face mask sa Cebu, bagay na pinalagan ng DOH at ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
