DBM, naglaan ng P453.11-B pondo para sa climate change adaptation

Aabot sa P453.11 bilyong piso ang inilaang budget ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para sa climate change adaptation and mitigation program.

Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, ito na ang record-high na pondo para sa climate change adaptation para sa Fiscal year 2023 National Expenditure Program.

Ayon kay Pangandaman, 56.4 porsyentong mas mataas ito kumpara sa P289.73 bilyong pondo sa taong 2022.

Lulmalabas sa Climate Change Expenditure Tagging na ang Water Sufficiency projects ang prayoridad na may P264.89 bilyong pondo.

Sinusundan ito ng Sustainable Energy and Food Security na may P131.51 bilyon at P40.78 bilyong pondo.

Prayoridad din ang Flood Management Program ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na mayroong budget allocation na P168.9 bilyon, kasama na ang construction at rehabilitation sa flood-mitigation structures at drainage systems sa buong bansa.

Nasa P2.49 bilyon naman ang nakalaan para sa National Greening Program ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Nakalaan ito para sa pagtatanim ng 6.18 milyong seedlings sa 11,631 ektaryang land resources.

“We have documented an average of 21.3 percent increase in climate-related expenditures from 2015 to 2023. With the continuous help of implementing agencies and of every Filipino, we can work towards climate resiliency to safeguard a sustainable future for our country,” pahayag ni Pangandaman.
