DOTr sinabing maaring kapusin ang supply ng beep cards

Kinumpirma ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang posibleng kakapusan ng beep cards na ginagamit ng mga sumasakay sa rail transport system.

Ito ay bunsod naman ng isyu sa supply ng chip na nakakaapekto sa produksyon ng beep cards o stored value cards (SVCs).

Kabilang sa problema ay ang sitwasyon sa Russia, ang epekto ng COVID 19 sa China at ang mataas na gastusin sa transportasyon ng SVCs.

Ibinahagi ni Transportation Undersecretary for Rails Cesar Chavez na nabigo ang AF Payments Inc., na makapag-deliver ng 75,000 SVCs noong nakaraang buwan.

Pagtitiyak naman nito na may mga ginagawa ng hakbang para matugunan ang isyu, kabilang na ang paggamit na muna ng single journey tickets.
