Isasailalim sa total lockdown ang Senate building.

Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na habang naka-lockdown, ipatutupad ang work-from-home arrangement sa lahat ng empleyado ng Senado hanggang sa araw ng Lunes, Agosto 22.

Ito ay matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang ilang senador, kabilang sina Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar, Grace Poe, JV Ejercito, Nancy Binay, at Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva.

Dahil dito, ilang staff din ng mga nabanggit na senador ang nagkaroon ng exposure sa nakahahawang sakit.

“I have instructed the Secretariat to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all Senate offices,” saad ni Zubiri.

Magbabalik naman ang Senate sessions sa araw ng Martes, Agosto 23.

“Please stay safe and healthy everyone. Together we shall fight this virus and continue to deliver government service as efficiently as possible,” dagdag nito.
