Mga apektado ng pagsasara ng Colegio de San Lorenzo, tutulungan ng QC LGU
Tutulungan ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ang mga estudyante, magulang, guro, at mga empleyado na naapektuhan ng pagsasara ng Colegio de San Lorenzo.
Ginawa ni Belmonte ang pahayag matapos biglaang ianunsyo ng paaralan ang pagsasara dahil sa financial instability dahil sa pandemya sa COVID-19.
Ayon kay Belmonte, inatasan na niya ang City Legal Department, na pinamumunuan ni City Attorney Orlando Paolo Casimiro, kung paano matutulungan ng pamahalaan ang hinaing ng mga ito.
“We will extend all possible assistance to the students and parents, especially since the school year has started. We shall help in coordinating with other schools, colleges, and universities where affected students can transfer with their credentials credited. We need to ensure that no student will encounter any delay in their studies, especially the graduating or senior ones, and that their refund will be given quickly. The teaching and administrative personnel should also be taken cared of,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
Nabatid na nakipagpulong na si Casimiro sa mga kinatawan ng Colegio de San Lorenzo noong Martes, Agosto 16.
“The officials of Colegio de San Lorenzo have expressed their full cooperation in refunding tuition and other expenses such as books and uniforms; endorsing students to other schools and universities; and releasing the salaries and incentives of its teaching and non-teaching staff,” pahayag ni Casimiro.
Sinabi naman ni Belmonte na may mga eskwelahan na nagpahayag na handang tanggapin ang mga estudyante.
Partikular na aniya ang Quezon City University na bukas na tanggapin sa kanilang tatlong branch, lalo na ang graduating students.
“The QCU will welcome the college students of CDSL and we will help in crediting their classes and helping them have a smooth transition to our university,” pahayag ni QCU President Dr. Theresita Atienza.
Samantala, iendorso naman ang mga guro at mga non-teaching personnel sa QC – Public Employment Service Office para sa posibleng e-financial assistance o mahanapan ng trabaho.
