Senate resolution kinilala ang yumaong aktres na si Cherie Gil
Inaprubahan ng Senado ang resolusyon ng pakikirimay at pakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ng veteran actress Cherie Gil.
Pumanaw si Gil, Evangeline Rose Gil Eigenmann sa tunay na buhay, sa edad na 59 noong nakaraang Agosto 7 dahil sa cancer.
Sinang-ayunan ng lahat ng senador ang Senate Resolution No. 109 na inihain ni Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr., at si Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva ang nag-sponsor.
Kinilala sa resolusyon ang makulay na career ni Gil sa mundo ng showbiz.
“Her professionalism, passion and dedication, together with her generosity to colleagues, and commitment to excellence all serve as inspiration and guiding light for the younger generation of artists and creative workers,” ayon sa resolusyon.
Binanggit din sa resolusyon na malaking kawalan sa entertainment industry ang pagpanaw ng aktres na kinilalang ‘La Primera Contravida.’
Ipinanganak noong Mayo 12, 1963, nagsimula sa showbiz si Gil sa edad na 7 at simula noon ay nakagawa na siya ng 109 pelikula, TV at theater shows.
Kabilang sa kanyang mga kinilalang pelikula ang ‘Oro, Plata, Mata,’ ‘ Manila by Night,’ at ‘Bituing Walang Ningning.’
