Local softdrinks producers kinakapos na sa asukal
Kinumpirma ng tatlong malalaking softdrink producers sa bansa na kinukulang na sila ng supply ng refined sugar.
Nagpalabas ng iisang pahayag ang Coca-Cola Beverages Phils., Pepsi-Cola Products Phils., at ARC Refreshments Corp., ukol sa isyu.
“Our industry is facing a shortage of premium refined sugar – a key ingredient in many of our products,” anila.
Dagdag pa ng tatlong kompaniya: “We are working closely with other stakeholders of the industrt and the government to address the situation. We thank our customers and the public for their continued support to our products and for their understanding.”
Inilabas ang pahayag kasabay ng mga kontrobersiya sa industriya ng asukal kasama na ang nabunyag na planong pag-angkat ng 300,000 metriko tonelada ng asukal, na ibinasura ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., matapos niyang madiskubre.
May mga ulat na ang suplay ng asukal sa bansa ay hanggang buwan ng Agosto na lamang.
