DA Usec. Leocadio Sebastian, nagbitiw sa puwesto kasunod ng hindi awtorisadong sugar importation order

Nagbitiw sa puwesto si Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Leocadio Sebastian kasunod ng hindi awtorisadong sugar importation order.

Kinumpirma ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang pagre-resign ni Sebastian, Biyernes ng gabi (Agosto 12).

“Undersecretary Leocadio Sebastian has resigned from his post as Department of Agriculture undersecretary for operations and chief of staff to the DA Secretary currently headed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.,” saad ni Press Secretary Beatrix “Trixie” Cruz-Angeles.

Ibinahagi rin ng Palasyo ang kopya ng resignation letter ni Sebastion.

Sa naturang liham, humingi ng paumanhin si Sebastian kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

“I sincerely offer my apologies, Your Excellency, for my having approved Sugar Order no.4 on your behalf, and through the authority you have vested upon me. It has become clear that the same was not in keeping with your administration’s desired direction for the sugar industry,” saad nito sa isang pahinang liham.

Inaako aniya niya ang pananagutan at responsibilidad sa kahihinatnan nito.

“Thus, I humbly offer to be relieved of my delegated authorities and the assignments and responsibilities in my capacity as Chief of Staff and Undersecretary of the Department of Agriculture,” ani Sebastian.

Dagdag nito, “The trust and confidence from your office have been moving forces behind my steadfast service, and I can not further risk that these should falter.”

Inihayag naman ni Sebastian na isang karangalan na makapagtrabaho kasama si Pangulong Marcos.

Nananatili aniyang buo ang kaniyang puso sa serbisyo-publiko at pagsuporta sa liderato ni Marcos.
