QC gov’t mamamahagi ng libreng gamot para sa PWDs na may mental health condition
Magbibigay ng libreng gamot na pang maintenance ang Quezon City government para sa Persons with disabilities (PWD) na may mental health conditions.
Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, maari lamang magtungo ang PWDs sa pinakamalapit na health center at dalhin ang reseta ng doktor para makakuha ng libreng gamot.
Kabilang sa mga ipinamimigay na gamot ang Clozapine 100 mg tablets, Biperiden 2 mg tablets, Chlorpromazine 100 mg tablets, Lithium Carbonate 450 mg tablets, Sertraline 50 mg tablets, Escitalophram Oxalate 10 mg tablets, Quetiapine 200 mg tablets at Valproic acid tablets.
Ayon sa U.S. Food and Drug Administration, ang prescription medicines na Clozapine at Sertraline ay maaaring makapagpagaling ng schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, at iba pang mental illnesses.
Bukas naman ang Quezon City General Hospital Psychiatry Department para sa mental health consultations.
Ang hakbang ay ginawa ng lokal na pamahalaan makaraang makaapekto ang COVID-19 pandemic sa iba’t ibang mental health concerns sa bansa.
Ayon sa National Center for Mental Health tumaas ang bilang ng namatay dahil sa pananakit sa sarili noong 2020 at tumaas ang natatanggap nilang tawag sa mental health at suicide hotline noong 2021.
