Lt. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., napili ni Pangulong Marcos bilang bagong PNP chief

Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. si Lt. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. bilang bagong chief ng Philippine National Police (PNP).

Ito ang kinumpirma ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles.

Nagtapos si Azurin sa Philippine Military Academy ‘Makatao’ Class of 1989.

Si Azurin ay commander ng Northern Luzon Police Area, kung saan sakop nito ang Ilocos (Region 1), Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Central Luzon (Region 3) at Cordillera Administrative Region.

Nagsilbi rin si Azurin bilang commander ng Southern Luzon Police Area, kung saan saklaw nito ang Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) – Region 4-A; Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) – Region 4-B at Bicol (Region 5).

Nagsilbi rin si Azurin bilang Directorate for Comptrollership (DC) at Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM).

Nagsilbi rin si Azurin bilang director ng Maritime Group at naging regional director bg Police Regional Office 1 sa Ilocos.

Nagsilbi rin si Azurin bilang provincial director ng Benguet Province at Chief Task Force Limbas ng Highway Patrol Group (HPG) at naging Deputy Operations Officer of Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF).

Ipinanganak si Azurin noong Abril 24, 1967 sa Paniqui, Tarlac at lumaki sa La Trinidad, Benguet.
