P5.1-B halaga ng COVID-19 vaccines nag-expire, malapit nang mag-expire

Itinuro ni dating Presidential Adviser on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion ang kabagalan ng Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) na dahilan kayat may P5.1 bilyong halaga ng COVID-19 vaccines ang malapit nang mag-expire.

Ang mga naturang bakuna, ayon kay Concepcion, ay binili ng pribadong sektor.

Aniya, Marso pa lang ay nanawagan na sila ng ‘booster expansion’ upang hindi masayang ang mga bakuna.

Kamakailan lamang, naglabas ang Department of Health (DOH) ng guidelines para sa rollout ng second booster shot sa mga nasa edad 50 pataas, gayundin sa mga may comorbidity.

“Dahil sa delay ng approval ng HTAC, we will be greatly affected, about P5.1 billion… so sayang ang pera natin. We should really insist that DOH should plan out itong mga challenging situations katulad nito,” diin ni Concepcion.

Ibinahagi nito na 4.2 million doses, 3.6 million doses ng Moderna vaccines ang may expiration noong Miyerkules, Hulyo 27 at 623,000 naman ang AstraZeneca doses.

May 71 milyong Filipino na ang fully vaccinated at higit 15 milyon pa lamang ang naturukan ng first booster shot.
