MIAA: Walang naitalang pinsala sa NAIA

Nag-inspeksyon ang Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Emergency Response and Safety teams sa mga pasilidad ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) matapos ang magnitude 7 na lindol sa Tayum, Abra.

Naramdaman din ang pagyanig sa iba pang bahagi ng Luzon, kabilang ang Metro Manila.

Ayon sa MIAA, ligtas para sa flight operations ang dalawang runways ng NAIA matapos masigurong walang naitalang pinsala rito.

“Inspection of the four (4) NAIA Terminals likewise yielded good results as no damage was also noted,” dagdag nito.

Ang MIAA terminals at iba pang gusali ay mayroong accelerographs sa iba’t ibang threshold base sa edad at structural integrity ng gusali.

Sinabi ng ahensya na nakapagtala ang accelerographs ng Intensity IV earthquake dakong 8:45 ng umaga, kung saan hindi kinakailangan ang evacuation.

“However at the International Cargo Terminal where said device is set at a lower threshold, registered a red alarm prompting mandatory evacuation of its occupants who were later allowed to go back to their offices after the building was declared safe. As a result of the evacuation, minimal disruption to processing of cargo was inevitable,” saad nito.

Tiniyak naman ng MIAA sa publiko na nakahanda ang kanilang emergency teams anuman ang mangyari, na ginagabayan ng Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) procedures.
