Sen. Pia Cayetano ikinatuwa paglinis ng COA kay champion pole vaulter EJ Obiena
Masaya si Senator Pia Cayetano at nilinis na ng Commission on Audit (COA) ang pangalan ni world champion pole vaulter EJ Obiena kaugnay sa kontrobersiya sa P10 million training fund.
Magandang kaganapanan din aniya ang pangako ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na susunod sa mga rekomendasyon ng COA upang hindi na maulit ang kontrobersiya.
Aniya dagdag responsibilidad pa sa mga atleta ang pag-liquidate ng pondo sa halip na mag-focus na lamang sa kanilang pagsasanay at pakikilahok sa mga kompetisyon.
“Regrettably, this controversy took a big toll on EJ and his family. The Senate even had to step in. The harassment against EJ must end, and I hope that no other athlete would ever experience the ordeal he went through, when all he wants is to compete and bring honor to our country,” aniya.
Diin pa ni Cayetano ang mga pambansang atleta gay ani Obiena ay nangangailangan ng suportrt sa sambayanan at mga ahensiya ng palakasan.
